Power up your Nintendo Wii U console with all the latest accessories!

Since the launch of the Nintendo Wii back in 2006, Nintendo has been actively designing a new and exciting system by the name of the Nintendo Wii U! The Nintendo Wii U has an abundant of new features and most notably a new controller called the Wii U GamePad.

Wii U GamePad

The most notable addition to the Wii U system is the addition of the GamePad. This new controller allows you to have dual screens while playing your games. The GamePad is equipped with a 6.2-inch LCD touch screen, front camera, as well as double analog sticks and traditional buttons. The GamePad does also include motion controls like the original Nintendo Wii Remotes, built-in speakers, and a microphone. The GamePad will also let you play your Wii U game without the TV being on, letting other household members to watch TV while you are playing your game. The GamePad has built-in support for Near Field Communication or NFC.

The Wii U Console

The new Wii U console is equipped with IBM Power-based multi-core processors. At launch, two different consoles will be available the Deluxe set with 32 GB of storage and the Basic set with 8 GB of storage. Both consoles will also support external USB storage. The Wii U supports video outputs of 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i. The Wii U console utilizes a new custom designed power saving feature to reduce its power consumption. In addition to the new GamePad the Wii U console will also support the following controllers: up to four Wii remotes (or the Wii Remote Plus), Wii U Pro Controller, Wii Nunchuck, Wii Classic controller, and also the Wii Balance board. Located on the Wii U are four USB 2.0 ports, two ports are located in the front and two are located on the rear of the console. The Wii U will is able to connect to the Internet via a wireless connection; however you will still have the option to connect with a LAN adapter through one of the USB ports.

On Board Software

You can make the Wii U the center of your entertainment with the setup of a few applications right out of the box. Whenever you start up your Wii U console you will be greeted by a world of Mii characters and by games that are most talked about by the community. Right on the GamePad controller you will be able to select the program you want to launch. A few of the applications on the Wii U console are the Miiverse which lets you connect with the Mii U community. The Nintendo eShop is going to be your one stop shop to download games and demos. Built in Internet Browser allows you to explore the web with a unique two screen experience. The new and exciting Nintendo TVii gives you a new way to explore your shows with a seamless personalized guide.
